TÂMEGA HYDRO POWER GENERATION SYSTEM
AUXILIARY MECHANICAL SYSTEMS (BOP 3)
Under the National Plan for High Potential Hydroelectric Dams (Portugal), IBERDROLA is developing the TAMEGA HYDRO POWER GENERATION SYSTEM. This system is located in the north of Portugal and consists of the Hydroelectric Projects of Gouvães (4x200MWe), Daivões (2×57 MWe) and Alto-Tâmega (2×80 MWe), plus the respective hydraulic, access and power grid connection infrastructures.
IBERDROLA awarded Technoedif Engenharia a contract covering the design, engineering, procurement, manufacture, quality management, transport and delivery of the Materials and Equipment necessary for the assembly, erection and start-up of the Auxiliary Mechanical Systems (BOP 3) for the three Hydroelectric Plants.
The Auxiliary Mechanical Systems (BOP 3) are made up of the following systems:
• Power plant draining and voiding;
• Dam draining;
• Cooling water;
• Potable water supply;
• Compressed air.
