RESÍDUAL BIOMASS THERMAL POWER PLANT

Altri and EDP have entered into a JV to build anew BIOMASS POWER PLANT, at CELBI Pulp Mill.
The Sociedade Bioelétrica do Mondego (SBM)Biomass Power Plant shall have a net power output of 34,5 MWe, and is the second of its kind to be installed in CELBI Mill, and, like the first one (see reference 07. below), it shall also be designed by TEE. The SBM biomass power is equipped with a Bubbling Fluidized BED (BFB) biomass boiler and a condensing steam turbine. The cooling system shall be done by water cooling towers. The Project Design is particularly challenging as the main equipments shall be installed in existing mill structures and buildings that will require extensive preparation work. The engineering and procurement activities are to be performed in 2017, with construction in 2018 and start-up in 2019.
